Pendle Hill is part of the Forest of Bowland Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB) where new perspectives open up in every direction, and it is one of 46 designated landscapes in England, Wales and Northern Ireland.

The story map was produced as a final interpretation piece for the Scheme in October 2022 working with Dr Selina Ellis-Gray.  The illustrated map highlights many of the Scheme's achievements, the natural and cultural heritage of the area, as well as bringing together quirky, place-based information.
